Description
There is an island in the south of my homeland Persia called Hengam. Most of the women living on this island wear a traditional clothing called "Borke" or "Batoole" to preserve their beauty from stranger men and keep it only for their husbands. They also tattoo their hands with henna plants, which they call "Lavender Henna." This beautiful and dignified lady is named Eli. She lives on this island and lost her husband in the war. She is the mother of two daughters, but even now she remains loyal to her husband , this deep bound is common in our culture. Her only source of income is weaving handicrafts, which I found very interesting. Despite all these difficulties, she remains hopeful about the future. She told me that, for the happiness of her daughters, she must work hard to give them a bright future. You can see the beauty, dignity, and resilience in her face.
